Bangladesh’s Civil Aviation and Tourism Minister M Rashiduzzaman Millat has called for planned infrastructure, visitor safety and environmental protection in developing Kuakata beach into an international-standard tourism destination.

Speaking at a meeting with officials in Kuakata, Patuakhali, the minister highlighted the need for safe drinking water, public toilets, seating, tourist information centres, parking, emergency medical support and trained lifeguards. The remarks were reported in an official statement released on October 24.

He also stressed effective waste management and participation by local communities and businesses. The minister said coordinated public-private efforts could improve the visitor experience while creating jobs and supporting the southern region’s economy.
