Bangladesh has revised fees for the inspection, testing and renewal approval of electrical installations and equipment through an amendment to the Electricity Rules, 2020.
Under the new schedule, inspection and testing of a 100-kVA consumer substation will cost Tk 20,000, with a Tk 10,000 renewal fee. For a 200-kVA substation, the respective charges are Tk 25,000 and Tk 12,500. Separate rates also apply to larger substations, lifts, energy meters and transformer-oil testing laboratories.
The revised fees took effect following a government notification. Applicants must pay through a Treasury Challan or the designated online e-Challan system and submit supporting documents to the Chief Electrical Inspector’s Office.
