Bangladesh has reiterated its commitment to multilateral cooperation and meaningful reform of the United Nations, including a more representative and effective Security Council.

In a message marking United Nations Day on October 24, State Minister for Foreign Affairs Humaiun Kobir stressed peaceful dispute resolution, international law and cooperation on development and human rights. He also highlighted Bangladesh’s role in UN peacekeeping and disaster resilience.

Kobir called for sustained international support for the safe and durable return of Rohingya refugees from Bangladesh to Myanmar. He urged stronger financial, technological and capacity-building support for developing and climate-vulnerable countries pursuing sustainable development.
