Oil prices climbed in early trading on October 28 after Yemen’s Houthi group claimed a missile strike on a major Saudi Arabian refinery. Reuters reported the claim but noted that Saudi authorities had not immediately confirmed the reported attack.
Brent futures were up about 1.4% at $115.47 a barrel and US West Texas Intermediate rose by a similar percentage to $101.33 at the time of the report. Those are market snapshots, not fixed prices for the day.
The claim added to concerns about oil supply amid wider Middle East tensions. The extent of any damage, the operational impact and the underlying attack claim require official confirmation; market moves alone do not establish what occurred at the facility.
