Bangladesh exported $343.65 million worth of ready-made garments to Japan in July–September, the first quarter of fiscal year 2026–27, according to Export Promotion Bureau data reported on October 25.
Japan accounted for 3.25% of Bangladesh’s total apparel exports in the quarter, a four-year high. Overall garment exports during the period stood at $10.58 billion.
Bangladesh Apparel Voice chief executive Mahiuuddin Rubel said the growing Japanese market offers scope for diversification beyond traditional destinations. Further gains would depend on meeting buyers’ requirements and sustaining competitiveness.
