Trade, investment and infrastructure cooperation are on the agenda for Bangladesh Prime Minister Tarique Rahman’s scheduled October 26–29 visit to Japan, according to the official itinerary released on October 25.
A summit with Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi is scheduled for October 27 in Tokyo. The programme also includes meetings with business leaders and development agencies, a keynote address at a Bangladesh–Japan economic forum and visits to industrial and energy facilities.
Officials expect discussions to cover implementation of the countries’ economic partnership agreement, trade access and development projects. Any new commitments will require confirmation from the governments after the meetings.
