A monthly law-and-order committee meeting was held at the Naniarchar Upazila Nirbahi Officer’s office in Rangamati on September 30, 2026, according to a report submitted by local correspondent Shahidul Islam.

Participants, including local representatives, teachers, journalists and an army zone representative, discussed prevention of child marriage, potential public-health risks involving sick stray animals, navigation difficulties linked to fishing nets in the Chengi River, road safety and congestion around Ghilachhari market.

The report also described calls for action against online gambling, narcotics, illegal hill cutting and sand extraction. Security arrangements for Durga Puja and electricity supply issues were raised. Matters discussed at the meeting should not be mistaken for independently established criminal findings.
