Cumilla University instructed its 19 departments to begin first-year examinations for the 2025–26 academic session between October 1 and 15, 2026, in an effort to maintain the academic calendar and reduce session delays.
Pro-Vice-Chancellor Professor Mohammad Amjad Hossain Sarkar described the initiative on October 1. According to the submitted campus report, departments including Mass Communication and Journalism, Anthropology, English, Pharmacy, Marketing, Computer Science and Engineering, Management Studies, and Finance and Banking had already started exams at that time.
Classes began on April 12, but student migration delayed teaching schedules in some departments. This report records the October 1 announcement; it does not independently establish whether all departments subsequently met the October 15 target.
