Bangladesh Railway has announced a new service named Mahanagar Provati on the Dhaka–Chattogram–Cox’s Bazar route, with a Shovon Chair fare of Tk 685 between Dhaka and Cox’s Bazar.
Railway Minister Shaikh Rabiul Alam announced the service at Kamalapur Railway Station on October 26. He said the addition would increase the number of train pairs serving the route from two to three, with a longer-term plan to reach seven pairs.
The minister cited shortages of locomotives and coaches as constraints on expanding service. Passengers should consult Bangladesh Railway’s official timetable and ticketing information for confirmed departures and seat availability.
