Bangladesh received $10.729 billion in workers’ remittances from July 1 to October 24 of fiscal year 2026–27, up 11.9% from $9.588 billion in the corresponding period a year earlier, according to figures released October 25.
Remittances during October 1–24 reached $2.137 billion, compared with $2.002 billion a year ago, a year-on-year increase of 6.7%. In the six days from October 19 to 24, expatriates sent $294 million.
The inflows can support the country’s foreign-exchange position, although future remittance trends depend on employment, exchange rates and the accessibility of formal transfer channels.
