Bangladesh Bank’s website returned online at 8 a.m. on Sunday, October 25, after a precautionary three-day shutdown amid an international cybersecurity alert, spokesperson Arif Hossain Khan confirmed.
The central bank took its website offline on October 22 after warnings about vulnerabilities affecting PHP-based web applications. Its technology team monitored the situation and assessed security before restoration.
The spokesperson said no bank website had been confirmed hacked and that the bank had identified no present threat to digital transactions. The temporary shutdown was a precaution, not an announcement that an intrusion had occurred.
