International Desk: A large Russian drone and missile assault on Ukraine’s energy infrastructure on November 3 disrupted electricity supplies across several regions, including Kyiv, Reuters reported.

President Volodymyr Zelenskiy said Russia launched hundreds of drones and numerous missiles. Private energy company DTEK reported that several of its thermal power plants were knocked offline. Rail facilities also sustained damage.

Russia said it targeted electricity facilities supporting military production and operations. The parties’ battlefield claims have not all been independently verified. Damage to energy infrastructure raises concerns for civilians as winter approaches.
