Science and Technology Desk: A nano-urea fertiliser technology developed by Professor Md Javed Hossain Khan of Jashore University of Science and Technology received patent approval on October 25, BSS reported on November 3.
The approach applies a liquid nitrogen fertiliser to leaves. Its inventor claims potential reductions in fertiliser costs and waste compared with conventional urea, but patent approval is not independent proof of agronomic effectiveness, crop yields or commercial viability.
Before widespread adoption, transparent controlled field trials across crops and regions, environmental assessments and complete cost comparisons would be needed to establish the technology’s benefits and limitations.
