International Desk: Iran has presented a conditional proposal that it says could reopen the Strait of Hormuz and restart nuclear negotiations with the United States within two days, shortening an earlier seven-day timetable, the Associated Press reported on November 2.

Tehran’s conditions include lifting the blockade of Iranian ports and restrictions on Iranian oil sales, as well as a ceasefire that would cover Lebanon. Iran has suggested shipping could use a route coordinated with Oman under Iranian supervision.

There is no confirmed indication that Washington has accepted those terms. The announcement therefore represents a proposal rather than an agreement or a guarantee that shipping will resume within two days. The waterway remains critical to international energy and freight markets.
