The University of Dhaka says it leads Bangladeshi universities in the number of research publications indexed in Scopus, based on an institution-level search conducted through October 2026.
A university statement issued on 30 October lists 18,255 publications for Dhaka University and 13,807 for Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology. It says 49 Bangladeshi universities together account for 147,808 indexed publications.
The university says it intends to strengthen research facilities and international collaboration. The reported ranking measures publication volume, however, and should not be interpreted on its own as a comprehensive assessment of research quality, impact or citations.
