DHAKA, November 5, 2026 — Bangladesh received $12.112 billion in remittances from July 1 through November 4 of fiscal year 2026–27, an increase of 14.2% from $10.610 billion in the corresponding period a year earlier, according to Bangladesh Bank figures reported by state news agency BSS.
Transfers through formal channels reached $647 million in the first four days of November, compared with $461 million in the equivalent period of 2025, a rise of 40.33%. On November 4 alone, expatriates sent $126 million.
The figures refer to recorded remittances through banking channels. Stronger inflows support foreign exchange availability, although their benefit to receiving households also depends on transfer fees, exchange rates and domestic purchasing power.
