Government employees will receive arrears under the National Pay Scale 2026 for the period from July 1 until the issuance of the official order with their next salary, according to a Finance Ministry gazette issued on September 17.

The pay scale has been made effective retrospectively from July 1. Employees in grades 10 to 20 will receive 50 percent of the increase in basic pay from July through December 2026, 75 percent from January through June 2027, and the full increase together with the annual increment from July 2027.

For grades 1 to 9, 40 percent of the increase will apply from July through December 2026, rising to 70 percent from January through June 2027 and to the full amount from July 2027.

Existing allowance rates will remain in force through December 31, 2027, while revised allowance rates are scheduled to take effect on January 1, 2028. The government approved the new pay scale on August 31.
