Bangladesh Prime Minister Tarique Rahman has called on world leaders to work together through cooperation, solidarity and shared responsibility to accelerate progress toward the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
In a video message sent to the United Nations-organised ‘SDG Moment’ event, the prime minister said the world remains behind schedule on the goals and stressed the need for stronger international partnerships, greater exchange of experience and coordinated initiatives.
Heads of state and government from several countries also delivered video messages at the event. Rahman is scheduled to travel to New York on Monday to attend the high-level segment of the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly.
